The Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok is Thailand's premier sports venue, located in the Bangkapi district. Built in the 1990s and opened in 1998, it has become the central venue for major international events such as the Asian Summer Games and the ASEAN University Games. Originally holding 80,000 spectators, the stadium has been upgraded to accommodate up to 65,000 people. It is the home of the Thailand national football team and regularly hosts national cup finals.
The Rajamangala Stadium has also hosted major sporting events, including matches at the 2007 Asian Cup and the 2007 Summer Universiade. In 2012, it hosted the Race of Champions, an international motor race. In addition to football matches, the stadium is used for athletics competitions, concerts and national holidays.
